What we mean by science

Every piur London range is a protocol: a fixed order of steps, each with its own contact time and, where the iron is used, its own temperature. The order is part of the formula. A step used out of sequence does not do what its label says it does.

Below is the list of technologies printed on our labels, with what each one is stated to do. We do not publish a claim that is not on the label, and we do not publish a number we cannot point at. Where a result depends on hair history, condition or technique, it is said on the product page instead of being promised here.

The technologies named on our labels

5-Moment Protection System

Three technologies on one label, the S.P.R. Stabilizer: Seaplex® for botanical peptide molecular repair, Filcortex® to reinforce the internal structure, and Osmotic Shield® to protect the fibre during chemical stress. A leave-on spray for before, during and after bleach, colour or straightening.

Fruit Acid Closure

Step 3 of the S.P.R. reconstruction protocol, at pH 3.5. Natural fruit acids seal the cuticle for the final finish. It is the only pH declared on a piur London label.

AminoShield Cleanse

Step 1 of the Hydraluxe hydration protocol. Sugar beet derived amino acids cleanse without stripping the fibre, preparing it for Step 2.

B-Plex System

Step 2 of the Rebonding straightening protocol. Formaldehyde free realignment for chemically resistant hair, sealed under the iron at up to 230 degrees Celsius.

LuminAlign System

Step 2 of the Reactive Pro straightening protocol. Realigns blonde, highlighted and sensitised hair while optimising light reflection, ironed at 160 to 190 degrees Celsius.

NanoShield Complex

The technology of Mask Therapy, a standalone 10 minute in-chair mask. Stated to rebuild fibre structure and restore elasticity. Carries the V-Label.

At home, between appointments

Each home care range carries its own named technology. AcerolaForce runs through the S.P.R. shampoo, conditioner and mask. Peptide Charge P4 is the technology of the S.P.R. weekly dose, which stands in for both conditioner and mask on the day it is used. TucumaVault, under the Moisture Equilibrium banner, is the Hydraluxe weekly treatment with Amazonian tucuma oil. LipidHoney is the Gold Ritual cleanser with pistachio oil. ImmunityBlend is the Reactive Pro weekly step, the only product in that range whose label claims it helps to prolong smoothing results.
