Rebonding: smoothing for resistant hair
Rebonding is built for natural, chemically resistant hair, the kind that can take a flat iron up to 230C, bringing heavy volume down with a formaldehyde free system.
Built for
Chemically resistant, natural-strength hair that can take an iron up to 230C.
Technology
A glyoxylic acid base, thermally sealed by the iron, the B-Plex System.
In the chair
Two steps: Shampoo, then Keraplex, a 40-minute pause before ironing.
The Rebonding protocol
Shampoo
Removes build-up and equalises porosity. Dry hair fully before Keraplex.
Keraplex
1 to 2cm off the scalp, 40 minutes at room temperature, then ironed in sections.
Dry the hair completely before Keraplex, and again after the 40-minute pause, before ironing.
Is Rebonding suitable for blonde or highlighted hair?
Can the 40 minute pause be shortened to save time?
Why does the hair need to be dried twice?
Does Keraplex need replacing more often than other treatments?
Is the realigning active formaldehyde?
